What do you sell?
Sapphire Secrets sells Handmade Fairy Dress, wands and
wings, stunning T-Tutus, shirt tutus, Selina Fenech
products, chef aprons, Lingerie, beautiful designer
handbags and children's/babies shoes.
Why did you decide to start a home business?
With having two young children and not working I wanted
to do something for myself and keep my brain active, I
have always been interested in running my own business.
How did you get started?
I started this time last year, I love fairies so I
wanted to sell some sort of fairy items, my daughter
also loves fairy outfits so she has been a great help in
naming the costumes.
How do you promote your business?
I promote doing flyers, and google ad words.
Does your family support you?
My Husband is 100% behind me and always supportive and helps out when he can, he
also does all the accounts for me as I am not that good is this area.
What challenges do you have in working for home?
Being a full time mum and housewife I have to fit the business in around keeping
the children occupied, doing the housework and walking the puppy we have, but it
keeps me fit and active.
Where and how do you network with other moms?
I go on WAHM and MOM pack they are both great way meet other stay at home moms
and give great advice to people and are always there for you on good days and
bad days.
Can you share your tips for survival and success?
Keep your prices low but enough to still make a profit,
good customer service and check out your competition. I
also do a lot of sales and competitions so customers can
win free items, I find this boosts sales from time to
time.
What is the best advice you could offer to someone
just getting started?
Do lots of research and keep a positive attitude and do
not think you will be a millionaire in the first year,
it is very tough running a business and a family but
keep in there a give it a good go. I love it, even
though I do not make much I love the wonderful e-mails
from people and customers who have been happy with my
service.
