Abundantly scented, affordably priced...all the time! ™

Meet Jenn. We are
a family owned and operated candle & soap company. All
of our products are made with the finest quality
ingredients and over 10 years of experience.

What do you sell?
100% homemade candles, soaps, bath products, home
fragrance goodies, etc.
Why did you decide to start a home business?
My kids are a very important part of my life and I
want to be there for them. I just can not see myself
working outside the home and still being able to do the
things I do now with them.

How did you get started?
I have always enjoyed crafting. I used to do a bunch
a wood crafts and one day while shopping at a craft
store I found a candle making kit. I tried it and man
were those first candles terrible. But my husband was
supportive and encouraging so I kept at it. Testing,
testing and more testing....for over 7 months. Then I
started out doing home parties and small craft shows and
have grown from there.
How
do you promote your business?
A large part of our "advertising" is word of mouth.
There is no better promotion then a satisfied customer!
Other than that our products all have our phone and
website on the labels and we participate in a bi-monthly
coupon magazine direct mailer for our area. Another good
tool is link exchanges and online craft malls.
What challenges do you have in working for home?
Finding a balance between home and work. The line is
very blurry most of the time.
Where and how do you network with
other moms?
I frequent a few crafting message forums and also have
found Facebook as a great tool for reconnecting/staying
in touch with others.

Can you share your tips for survival
and success?
CUSTOMER SERVICE. I cannot stress this enough. We
strive to go above and beyond to make our customers feel
like they are the most important thing to us....because
they really are! Also, be unique. Offer products that
are different then what they can buy at every shop in
town.
What is the best advice you could
offer to someone just getting started?
Slow down and do it right. Build your business on hard
work and honesty. It may take long hours and lots of
stressful days but it is so worth it in the end.
What
inspires you?
This may sound odd but I get my inspiration from a plain
ole slab of wax. To me it is a blank canvas just waiting
to be painted on. I love making it into many different
yummy smelling things that people enjoy.
